Bevel Lesson 3 The first font we will use will be a chunky one. This is important for this bevel look. I'm going to use Traffic (attached at bottom). This time I'd like you to choose a gold pattern for your foreground and a gradient of choice for your background. Font size: 100 (if this is too large then 72)*, Line width: 1, Floating checked, Antialias checked. *note: we will be resizing later You should have something like this:
Now we will apply some EyeCandy 3 Swirl effect with these settings: Whirlpool Spacing: 5, Smear Length: 4, Twist: 42, Streak Detail: 22, Warp: unchecked, Smooth: checked. You should have something like this:
Apply beveling with these settings: Smoothness 15, Depth: 7, Ambience: 0, Shininess: 50, Angle: 211, Intensity 25, Elevation: 55, Width: 20, Bevel: #2 (round) You should now have something like this:
Now we will apply the glass! Go to EyeCandy 3.1 (or whichever) and use these settings: Bevel Width: 8, Bevel shape: Button, Flaw Spacing: 30, Flaw Thickness: 8, Opacity: 20, Refraction: 10, Color: White, Highlight Brightness: 100, H Sharpness: 40, Direction: 135, Inclination: 45. note: you can save your settings by clicking on the pencil icon You should end up with something like this:
Kinda looks like a tumbled and polished stone doesn't it? Add drop shadow & a tube to your liking. Don't forget to resize!
********************** With the thin fonts you will apply the same glass setting but doing so twice or even three times. No beveling necessary. Add a little tube...or not...and you should have a nice little tag for yourself or a friend. Hope you enjoyed this little lesson in beveling! Shall we do gold next? Hugs!!!!
